HYVIA Unveils Prototype of the Hydrogen Version of the Renault Master AA

HYVIA, a joint venture between Renault Group and Plug, dedicated to hydrogen mobility.has unveiled the Renault Master H2-Tech Prototype at IAA Transportation Hanover 2024. The prototype prefigures the hydrogen production version of the new Renault Master, which will be marketed in Europe at the end of 2025.

The new hydrogen version of the Renault Master will be available in van, floor cab and chassis cab versions.

The large van offers a WLTP range of 700 kilometers.

Refueling time is 5 minutes, equivalent to that of a conventional vehicle, in a network of hydrogen stations being rolled out across Europe.

Hydrogen architecture fully integrated into the vehicle platform, preserving load volume and payload.

It features a new-generation fuel cell, produced at the HYVIA plant in Flins, using Plug's technology.

A choice of two H2 fuel tanks: 7.5 or 9 kg, to meet different range requirements is offered, thanks to partners OPmobility and FORVIA.

Nicolas Champetier, CEO HYVIA, says: “It's a great source of satisfaction for all HYVIA teams to be able to preview the prototype of the hydrogen version of the new Renault Master, which will be on the road by the end of 2025. This major innovation is the fruit of over 3 years' hard collective work, in partnership with Renault and Plug. HYVIA is thus demonstrating its ability to develop pioneering technologies, while at the same time initiating the deployment of emerging hydrogen ecosystems in Europe. The road ahead is full of challenges, but with passion and commitment, we know that today we are paving the way for the zero-emission mobility of the future, for intensive professional use.”

Heinz-Jürgen Löw, Senior Vice-President, Renault Brand Light Commercial Vehicle & President of the Supervisory Board, HYVIA, adds: “At Renault, we have always been pioneers in new energies and their ecosystems. Master is a perfect illustration of this, with its multi-energy platform enabling us to offer each customer a tailored solution. The hydrogen version of the new Master, developed by HYVIA, will meet the intensive uses of professionals committed to the energy transition, thanks to its unprecedented autonomy and uncompromising design.”
