Innoviz Technologies Chosen to Supply LiDARs to Automated Vehicles Within the Volkswagen Group

Innoviz Technologies has been chosen to supply LiDARs to Volkswagen and its brands. The decision was made by CARIAD, VW's software unit, which selected Innoviz to be its supplier and deliverer of advanced ADAS features for the segment of automated vehicles within the group brands. 

CARIAD selected the InnovizTwo next-generation LiDAR sensor and perception software.

This is Innoviz's third design win with a major automaker and first deal as a Tier-1 supplier. 

The selection, which is the Israeli startup's third major design win, follows more than two years of extensive diligence and qualification, and will increase Innoviz's forward-looking order book by $4 billion to $6.6 billion.

Innoviz believes its next-generation solution offers an unmatched combination of range, resolution, and field of view to deliver a 30x performance improvement over InnovizOne LiDAR, at a 70 percent reduction of the previous product's cost
