The World's First Augmented Reality Gaming Platform on Wheels - EKRUZER CEO

EKRUZER is developing the world's first gaming-compatible e-scooter. The Melbourne-based startup's first product is the EKRUZER #1, an e-scooter that features Augmented Reality Gaming (ARG).

Its CEO and Founder is known only by his gaming handle, Squad Leader.

"EKRUZER started from a passion for blending the thrill of video games with the great outdoors. I saw how gaming was captivating young people and keeping them inside in their bedrooms and thought, why not combine gaming with outdoor fun? EKRUZER is all about bringing gaming elements into real-world adventures, creating a new generation of outdoor excitement," Squad Leader tells Auto Futures.

EKRUZER aims to get people off the couch and out into the world, enjoying the outdoors while still engaging in the competitive spirit of gaming.

"Gaming outdoors combines the best of both worlds - adventure and play. It promotes a healthy lifestyle while keeping the competitive spirit alive," he says.

EKRUZER #1's unique design and exclusive patented technologies set it apart from other e-scooters.

Its technologies include: hubless wheels, interchangeabe batteries and the Kontrollor Bar.

"The Kontrollor Bar is a game-changer, literally. Think gaming controller meets vehicle handlebars; it integrates gaming controls with real-world navigation, offering an immersive experience that blends digital and physical play," explains Squad Leader.

EKRUZER recently announced a partnership with TAV Systems in the design, engineering and manufacture of its flagship product. TAV is another Australian startup.

It is developing electric powertrains for e-bikes.

In a press release, Raphael Garcia, Research and Development Specialist at TAV Systems, stated: "Our electric powertrains are designed to offer range and performance, and we are confident that EKRUZER #1 will set new standards for urban mobility and gaming. Our design and engineering team has been busy designing and crafting the elements to make EKRUZER the best device in its class, and we can’t wait to showcase this once ready. It will be incredible."

A Global Tournament

Safety is the top priority for the company. The EKRUZER #1 offers a number of safety features and will be fully certified, having undergone extensive trials and rigorous testing.

"One of the standout safety features is our Pack Management System (PMS), which maintains optimal battery safety. Additionally, we’ve integrated an AI assistant equipped with irregularity sensors. These sensors proactively alert riders to potential safety issues (e.g. tyre pressure anomalies)," says Squad Leader.

The countdown to its waitlist opening in November is already live on EKRUZER's website. Presales for EKRUZER #1 will open in April 2025.

"We’ll soon be launching our EKRUZER merchandise, just in time for Christmas. And buyers will have the chance to find a golden ticket, to win their very own EKRUZER. We’re also planning cryptic coded games around the world, leading up to a massive global EKRUZER tournament. More details on this will be revealed soon," he says.
